Samsung may be testing a new variant of the upcoming Galaxy Note 7 with a 6-inch screen, according to listings on an import site. The unreleased Galaxy Note 7 is rumoured to carry a 5.7in or 5.8in display size as opposed to the 6in screen size spotted for testing.

Import site Zauba which has listed several test versions of Samsung’s devices in the past shows a test version for a Samsung Galaxy device with a 6in screen being sent to Bangalore, India, where Samsung has a major R&D department. Various Galaxy Tabs and Galaxy phones have been tested in this facility and sent back to South Korea.

The model number mentioned on the smartphone is SM-N930 which has been reported as the internal code for the Galaxy Note 7 in the past. This could also mean that it may be another variant of the Note 7 like a Note 7 Edge or simply another Note 7 with a bigger screen. Samsung has been rumoured to plan an array of smartphones for 2017 and this model may feature under that bracket.

It is also unlikely that just a month before the Note 7 releases the company would still be testing the main model. Plus, just recently famed tipster Evan Blass posted the first reliable renders for the device which roughly look like a 5.7inch screen.

Other than the humongous screen which is slated to have a Super AMOLED display with dual-curved edges, the device will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 or 823 chip-set running on 6GB of RAM. The Note 7 is also speculated to be the first mainstream flagship smartphone to feature iris scanning technology.
