A manhunt is under way in Los Angeles after two police officers were wounded in gunfire.Dozens of police officers, police dogs and SWAT vehicles are participating in the search, which also closed down several blocks in the south of the Californian city, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The police were narcotics officers, wearing plain clothes and driving near an intersection on Sunday afternoon when someone opened fire.
The officers returned fire and several people scattered from the scene, said Detective Meghan Aguilar.
“At this time, the officers believe they were the target of the gunfire,” Det Aguilar said, adding that the two sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
Police have already detained several people in connection with the shooting, but are still looking for two men, believed to be armed and dangerous.
