BusThe 10 year old boy and his aunt were taken to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy by an ambulance. The people who witnessed this incident were terrified, and assumed the worst had happened. Luckily, the injuries were not fatal and it was originally suspected they had cuts and bruises. However, although the pair are alive their injuries could be more serious than first thought.

It is now known that the 10 year old boy has a ruptured spleen, and is being treated in York Hospital Children’s ward. The boy’s aunt is suspected to have a fractured collarbone and head injuries, and is still in The Victoria Hospital. Both of them are local to the area of the incident.

After the accident, the road was closed for 3 hours, from around 5pm to 8pm. The emergency services carried out their investigations as diversions were put in place for pedestrians and traffic. The incident occurred just outside of Pettycur Bay Holiday Park.

A spokesperson with Stagecoach, the owner of the bus, said they were thinking of the injured pedestrians and hoped that they were well. They also said that they would assist the police with their investigations by doing anything they needed them to do.

Moving forward, the pair need to concentrate on recovering and getting back to their former, healthy selves. They may also have a successful accident case on their hands, so they might benefit from contacting an accident attorney like Jeffrey Penneys. They will be able to give them advice on the best course of action to take.

They will be eligible to make a claim for 3 years after the date of the accident, but there are exceptions to this. The child for example, may have longer to enter his personal injury claim.

If the accident was due to the driver’s negligence, then the pair are entitled to make an injury compensation claim.

Many people don’t need to go to court, as this leads to a rise in costs for the person responsible for the injury or the insurance company. If there isn’t a dispute about who caused the accident or the injuries sustained, they will be able to settle the claim outside of court. If there is a dispute, they’ll need to go to court but a solicitor should walk them through it.

Although the first thing they need to do is recover from their injuries, afterwards the pair might find it beneficial to consider making a claim. With the right personal injury attorney, they should find the process simple and experience little hassle.
