The C segment sedan the Ciaz is one of the most successful launches of the year 2014. With the Ciaz the Maruti Suzuki India Limited hopes to improve their hold in the sedan segment also. The Ciaz showcased during the 2014 Indian auto show has been launched in October 2014. Even after six months there is a steady demand of nearly 5000 units per month. The Maruti Ciaz has already entered the list of the top ten best selling cars of India.
The Maruti Ciaz comes in 7 petrol and 4 diesel variants priced Rupees 7.17 to 10.32 lakh. The VXi and the VDi are the base variants and the ZXi AT and the ZDi+ are the top variants. The variants VXi+ AT and the ZXi AT have automatic transmission.
The Ciaz comes in colours of pearl midnight black, pearl metallic dignity brown, metallic glistening grey, metallic clear beige, pearl sangna red and metallic silky silver. The exterior features of this best looking Maruti vehicle include a trapezoidal grille with a lot of chrome, sweptback projector type head lights and an elongated hood, a forward leaning stance, chrome door handles, wrapped around tail lamps, reflectors on the rear bumper and a sun shade for the rear wind screen.
The cabin of the Maruti Ciaz is done in style with a lot of leg room and a big boot of 510 litres. The fuel efficiencies of Maruti Ciaz engines are very high. The petrol variants powered by 1373 cc, 91 bhp and 130 NM torque engines gives mileages of 20.73 kmpl and 19.12 kmpl respectively for manual and auto variants. The diesel ones have 1248 cc, 89 bhp and 200 NM torque engines with mileages of 26.21 kmpl.
The 4490 mm long Ciaz has a wheel base of 2650 mm and a ground clearance of 170 mm. The suspensions are McPherson strut at the front and torsion beam at the rear. The tyres are 185/65 R15 for the base variants and 195/55 R16 for the top variants.
The cabin space and quality and the mileages are the plus points of the Ciaz. The competition comes from the likes of Honda City, Hyundai 4S Fluidic Verna and the Volkswagen Vento.
